Team ($99/mo) and Business ($199/mo) both start with a 7-day trial. You pick the plan at checkout and enter a card, which is collected by Dodo Payments, our payment provider. You get 7 days of that plan. Cancel before day 7 and you pay $0.
The Free plan is separate. It's open sign-up with no card and no trial clock, and you can stay on it as long as you like.
What's unlocked during trial#
Everything in the plan you picked:
- 5 sites on Team, 25 on Business, with unlimited pages on each
- Custom domain
- Search
- Analytics
- API Playground and OpenAPI import
- AI generation (1,500 credits a month on Team, 6,000 on Business)
- Custom CSS
- Remove "Powered by Dokly" badge
- Connect your own AI agent over MCP (drafts and diffs you review before publishing)
- 5 GB storage on Team, 25 GB on Business
The trial is functionally identical to a paid subscription. The intent is to let you evaluate the actual product, not a stripped version.
How to see your trial status#
Settings → Billing shows:
- Your current plan (Team or Business)
- When the trial ends and your first charge happens
- How to cancel or change plans

What happens on day 7#
If you haven't cancelled:
- Your card is charged for the plan you picked ($99 for Team, $199 for Business), and billing continues monthly.
- Nothing changes in your workspace. Your sites, pages, and settings carry straight over.
If you cancelled before day 7:
- You aren't charged.
- Paid features stop when the trial ends. Your existing data is not deleted:
- Your pages stay in the database.
- Custom domains are detached but the configuration is preserved.
- The "Powered by Dokly" badge reappears on your published site.
If you subscribe again later, custom domains can be reattached with one click.
Can I extend the trial?#
Reach out at hello@dokly.co before your trial ends. We're flexible — if you're mid-evaluation and need more time, that's fine. We'd rather you make the right decision than rush it.
Can I trial again on a new account?#
Trials are per-account, not per-email. Creating a second account to get another trial isn't supported and is likely to get both accounts flagged.
What if I just want to use Free?#
Totally fine. Sign up without picking a paid plan and you're on Free: one site, unlimited pages, a *.dokly.co subdomain, and 15 AI credits a month. No card, no trial, no surprise charge. You can start a Team or Business trial later if your needs grow.
Billing after the trial#
Plans are billed monthly. There is no annual plan or annual discount today, and there's no special trial-conversion offer.
What we recommend#
Use the trial for what it's for: build a real docs site. Pick a project that matters, write 10–20 pages, ship it on a custom domain, watch the analytics for a few days. By day 7, you'll know whether Team is worth $99 a month for you.
If you're not sure, cancel before day 7 and stay on Free. Come back to Team when you have a clearer use case.
