Full-text search, built in. No setup required.
For your users#
Your docs site includes search out of the box. Users can:
- Click the search icon in the header
- Press
Cmd+K(orCtrl+Kon Windows) - Start typing to find anything
Results appear instantly as they type. Click a result to jump straight to that page.
Search indexes your page titles and content automatically. Nothing to configure.
How it works#
Dokly uses fuzzy search, which means:
- Typos are forgiven (
introdutionstill finds "Introduction") - Partial matches work (
authfinds "Authentication") - Results are ranked by relevance
Search analytics#
On Pro plans, you can see what people are searching for in your analytics dashboard.
This is genuinely useful:
- Popular searches — What are people looking for most?
- No-result searches — What are people searching for that doesn't exist?
I check no-result searches weekly. If multiple people search for something I haven't documented, that's my cue to write it.
Keyboard-first#
I'm a keyboard person. Cmd+K opens search, arrow keys navigate results, Enter selects. No mouse required.
Your users will appreciate it too.
